After five long months of lockdown, the Mill Hill Therapy Hub reopened in August 2020!

Here are a few changes you can expect:

  • A new sanitising station set up outside by our doorbell

  • Increased professional cleaning of the therapy room

  • The room has been rearranged to make social distancing simple

  • Clients will be greeted at the gate, alleviating any need to touch the doors

  • All items touched by the client will be separated and sanitised

  • The sand and sand tray will be disinfected between clients

  • The windows will remain open throughout each session

  • On request: the door can be left open as the garden is private and confidentiality can still be observed

  • Gloves and masks can be worn by me and the client

Please feel free to discuss these arrangements and any queries when we have our preliminary conversation.

The Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 has changed the world, family dynamics and the way that schools run. Life as we know it has been transformed and this can be disconcerting and upsetting for adults and children alike.

With society trying to get back to normal starting with schools, many parents are fearful and nervous to get their children back into education. I have been working on a document with child psychotherapist Zara Kadir to help parents, children, staff and whole schools prioritise mental health and even take a trauma-informed approach.

You can download and read it here.

The document offers a step-by-step, jargon-free approach to parenting, children’s mental health and setting up a school that runs with mental health at the forefront. It is free and can be used in any home or educational setting worldwide. The aim is to make this transition period manageable and limit the fallout of the collective trauma of this global crisis.

Please feel free to contact Zara or me.

We are available to help families, consult with schools, offer lesson plans and provide online therapy sessions for children and adults in school or at home.
