Resources
In partnership with Helping Families, I have been writing up-to-date documents for parents or care-givers to help them navigate this unprecedented time. All documents are free and available from www.helpingfamilies.co.uk as well as from this website.
Each one is carefully designed to help families in a practical way with things they may never have had to think about before.
Our first document, Getting Children Back to School Happily and Safely, helped families make difficult choices as things began to return to normal with coronavirus in the UK and showed parents, children and schools how to manage this irregular, scary and surprising transition. It was very well received and was spoken about on BBC Radio London and Talk Radio, offered by the UCL SEN hub as an official advice document and distributed by many borough councils and schools.
Our next document, Let’s Talk About Endings, is designed to raise the way we handle the endings, missed opportunities and losses that coronavirus and life may bring. The guide helps families think practically about endings and aims to help us cope with, celebrate and commemorate endings in a meaningful way.
For any information or help relating to these documents, please feel free to get in touch here, or on helpingfamilies.co.uk.
We offer consulting services for schools and families, practical troubleshooting and therapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults.
